Osteoporosis causes hip fracture with 25% dying in the first 6 to 12 months of fracture
Osteoporosis does not cause any symptoms but slowly weakens the bones leading to fracture. It is up-to this age that bone mass keeps on building, after which there is steady state decline with an acceleration at menopause.
